Don Darnell is a graduate of Eastern Michigan University (B.A., 1992) and the University of Detroit Mercy (J.D., 1996). He is admitted to the Michigan bar, the U.S. District Court (Eastern and Western Districts of Michigan), and the 6th Circuit Court of Appeals, and is a member of the Federal Bar Association and the Washtenaw County Bar Association.
Mr. Darnell has acted as a debtor's attorney in hundreds of Chapter 7 cases and dozens of Chapter 11 bankruptcy cases, and has acted as both debtor and creditor's counsel in adversary proceedings. He has tried cases in Federal and State courts, with matters involving patents, anti-trust, shareholder disputes, construction lien/bond, and fraudulent conveyances/ successor liability.
Mr. Darnell is a board member of the City of Dexter Downtown Development Authority and the Dexter Township Zoning Board of Appeals. His military service includes four years as a paratrooper with the U.S. Army, 82nd Airborne Division, and seven years as a field artillery officer with the Michigan Army National Guard.
Mr. Darnell restored his offices as pictured, finishing the project in 2011. Originally constructed in 1865 as a residence, the building was converted in the 1970's to a daycare facility and known in Dexter as the "Gingerbread House." The building has two comfortable conference rooms, one large and one small, a modern kitchen, and four private offices. Barrier Free access is to the rear of the building.
